GEORGIAN COLLEGE

Smoking Policy

The Smoke-Free Ontario Act applies to all campuses of Georgian College. The College is responsible under this legislation to ensure compliance with the smoking regulations under the Act. The intent of the Act is to provide a near complete ban on smoking in any enclosed spaces. Smoking is restricted at entrances to College buildings. Signage at each entrance indicates if that entrance is completely smoke free or if smoking is permitted away from the entrance.*

Georgian College is committed to providing a healthy learning and work environment at each of its campus locations. The following change to Georgian College’s smoking procedure was recently approved by College Council:

As of June 1st 2009, smoking is NOT permitted at any entrances to College buildings and is restricted to designated locations at each campus.

Smoking at any entrances may result in a fine $50.

Check out more info and find your campus designated smoking areas here.
