LTPB Resources for Campus Clinic Examining Rooms
Clinic Packages are small attractive orange pocket folders that contain the Smoke|Quit booklets, print information, novelty items and the Smokers Helpline card as most young adults indicate they want to quit on their own.
The Smoke|Quit booklets “are a self-help smoking cessation program tailored to the unique demographic, psychosocial and behavioural characteristics of post-secondary students…Smoke|Quit is significantly more effective at promoting cessation than self-help resources that are not tailored to this population”
If your campus has a Leave The Pack Behind team of students, the student team will refer smokers to the campus clinic and you can refer students to the team for ongoing support. Your student team can be assigned to keep the clinic stocked with LTPB materials on a regular basis. The clinic packages are essential to BTI and without these resources many clients who smoke may be missed.
LTPB post it™ notes or small notepadswith the LTPB website are provided to make notes for the client during BTI. This is a subtle way to send the client away with contact information at hand.
Student team business cards some LTPB campuses have student team business cards for peer-to-peer support contact information. Clinic staff can use student team business cards for clients who want to learn and/or connect with other students for support and understanding as well as find out about LTPB campus activities.
