Niagara College Smoking Policies

All internal locations on college-owned and leased premises will be

smoke-free with the exception of the Student Centre at the Welland Campus.

1. Smoking will be limited to designated locations at each campus.

   These will be outside, at least 25 feet away from the building and

   away from major entrances.

2. Students and staff who violate this practice will be disciplined in

   accordance with existing student and staff practices.

Residences

Smoking

Is only permitted by those students who have met the age requirements

outlined by Government of Ontario. Consumption of tobacco inside the

Residence is only permitted in such place designated by the Manager and

the College. Student Residents and/or their visitors in violation of this

policy will have these substances confiscated by a Residence Staff member.

Furthermore, the Student Resident accepts responsibility for any damages

resulting from the use of tobacco anywhere on the demised premises.

Repeated offenses may result in the termination of this agreement without

financial compensation.
